Anacortes Collects
In 2007 the Festival started an exciting new program called "Anacortes Collects" to encourage placing artwork in the community. The Festival will offer qualifying community partners up to $5,000 annually in matching funds to purchase artwork from the Art at the Port Exhibitions. Artwork purchased through the program will belong to the partnering organizations. The Board sees this as an innovative and exciting way to expand the public's access to art in the community, and support artists through an expanded collector base.
If you're interested in more information, or becoming a collector partner please contact the office at 293-6211.

This 2007 partners are Island Hospital and The Anacortes American.
Island Hospital chose two Jack Gunter oil paintings, titled "Basket Painting #23" and "A View from Rose Point" to hang in the new hospital facility. "A View from Rose Point" was painted from a historic Anacortes photo from the Wally Funk collection.
In addition, the Anacortes American is purchasing 3 Lewis Jones polaroid transfer photographs depicting images from Anacortes.
The Island Hospital Art Committee is shown with "Basket Painting #23" by Jack Gunter.
