Booth Artisan Awards

Each year the Anacortes Arts Festival Board recognizes outstanding Booth Artisans. This year the Anacortes Arts Festival matched funds with sponsors for $3,600 in cash awards: $2,000 for Best of the Fest with Wells Fargo Bank; $1,000 with Cornelia's Garden for the Creativity Award; and $600 for six block awards with the Chamber of Commerce.

2009 Awards:

Wells FargoEarl Olsen of Earl Olsen Photography from Freeland, WA won the $2,000 Best of the Fest award. He has color photographic prints using carbon pigment inks on fine art paper and archival framing materials. Tom Kuzman of Wells Fargo Bank presented the award.

Cornelia's GardenBeate & Sebastian Degen of Sawatch TImber Drums from Bellingham, WA won the $1,000 Creativity Award sponsored by Cornelia's Garden. Their creativity is demonstrated through Beate's jewelry and Sebastian's unique custom drums. Sebastian passed July 2, 2009. Cindy Morton of Cornelia's Garden and Mary Leone of the Anacortes Arts Festival presented the award.

Anacortes Chamber of CommerceThe Anacortes Chamber of Commerce sponsored $100 Partnership awards for each of the 6 blocks, choosing Booth Artisans for originality and unique display. Mitch Everton, Chamber Executive Director, presented awards to:
