PIANO-CORTES Returns to Anacortes This Summer!
The Anacortes Arts Commission, the Anacortes Arts Festival, and the Anacortes Creative District are thrilled to announce the return of Piano-Cortes — a vibrant celebration of public art, music, and community spirit!
This unique event brings art to the streets in a truly creative way: by turning pianos into painted masterpieces! A call to artists earlier this year brought in a number of talented applicants, and we are excited to announce that two outstanding artists have been selected: Cal Robinson and Chelsea Wirtz.
These two artists worked on painting their pianos live during the Anacortes Arts Festival's Working Studios, offering the public a chance to witness the transformation in real-time. The pianos are displayed throughout downtown Anacortes during the month of August, inviting residents and visitors alike to play, admire, and interact with them.
In addition to their public display, the pianos will be available through an online auction, giving art and music lovers the opportunity to bring one of these unique works into their own home or business.
Winners will be responsible for moving piano to it's final destination. Our partners at North Sound Piano are happy to give you a quote for their services.
